The buried polling detail: Americans would rather live near a nuclear plant (57% opposition) than an AI data centre (62%). And the "AI" label itself does 9 points of damage — 53% oppose a "search and streaming" data centre, 62% oppose an "AI" one. People aren't opposing the infrastructure. They're opposing the thing it's for. The GOP calls data centres a "sleeper issue for the entire election cycle."
